Lacrosse balls are basically death spheres when a 6 year old is involved… They weight the same as a lacrosse ball but are not nearly as scary… it does not roll forever when my son misses a catch. The amount of time this saves the kid from endlessly running after the ball is a subtle yet powerful benefit.

I bought 2 of these to teach my 7 year old son how to play and I wish we had these when I was playing in high school… They feel like the real thing, no tears so far even when I have thrown a few zingers and most of all we aren't spending 99% of our time chasing after balls that bounce and roll all over the place

SWAX LAX Lacrosse training ball is fantastic for first time players. It is soft so it takes away the fear of getting hit with the ball when learning to catch and pass. It is made of quality material that has not ripped or shredded with a lot of use or being left out in the rain… It is a great starter ball!

My 7 year old daughter was very scared of catching a ball and would often move out of the way and miss balls thrown right at her. This ball has the weight of a softball making it easier to catch than a tennis ball, but it is also soft enough to make her feel comfortable getting in front of it.

I have been looking for a replacement for a Ragball softball that I had for my classroom. These work great. You're not going to be hitting these out of the ball park, but it makes for a perfect game of softball, and the students can catch the ball without gloves and without fear of hurting themselves.

This is an amazing product. I have been playing baseball with my kids (10, 8, 5) and they have been progressing but struggling with catching. I bought softer baseballs, but they still hurt. I noticed that fear was really holding them back from developing necessary skills.

I've never written a review, but I did a lot of searching for a ball I could feel safe throwing line drives at my T-ball aged son, one with the size and weight of a real ball. I've got a bit of a wild arm and don't really trust myself with even an Incrediball — they're still too hard on impact for a kid who missed half his catches.

THIS is the one. It throws just like a baseball but it can whack them in the nose and they'll shake it right off and throw it back. And it still sounds and feels like a baseball when it hits your glove. Don't worry about the price or keep looking. Just get this one. Not sure about asphalt or concrete though — the cover is a cloth/plush leather style.

If your child is having trouble catching, buy these now. These balls were a game-changer for my 6-year-old son. He was struggling to catch, and the hard 8U balls kept bouncing off his glove and hitting him, which was really discouraging.

Swax baseballs have been great. Same size and weight as a real baseball, but padded. They have the same feeling as a baseball when throwing and catching, but without the fear of a black eye when my son misses a catch. May order more to practice with.

Perfect for young players that are scared of the ball. It is the same size and look as an original ball. It gave us hours of fun playing catch outside for my kids. We even used them for our t-ball team for the first few practices. No busted lips!

Great for teaching younger kids how to catch a baseball. Similar size and weight as a regular baseball, which is good for them to get used to. Softer and safer if they were to have it hit them. We use it for having a catch and throwing pop ups.

My sons were afraid to really throw and catch baseballs with one another because they didn't want to get hit with the ball. These removed all fear after a couple sessions. My 5 and 8 year old can play catch with me and each other easily now because of these balls.

Only issue is they get really dirty and scraped up with a lot of use, and they're a little expensive for what they are. But all in all a good product. I will buy again if lost or broken.
